The Olympic Games always spark a world of creativity in designers and art-enthusiasts alike. I’m always interested in seeing the concepts, colours and international alliance the games bring to its hosting country. Today I stumbled across these awesome test event poster from the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Test event posters are created for the rehearsal events that happen before the actual games themselves and the identity and concepts differ from those of the official games. It gives everyone, including the printers and designers, a chance to get ready and make sure everything works perfectly. I love the simplicity and retro feel of these pieces of design history.
