Posters within A Poster – Wim Crouwel

I just came across this lovely collection of posters within a poster and couldn’t wait to share it. The poster features designs by the legendary designer  Wim Crouwel and was released to coincide with the Wim Crouwel exhibition entitled ‘Wim Crouwel – A Graphic Odyssey’ that was showcased at The Design Museum in London during 2011.

The poster also includes text by Adrian Shaughnessy, in case you were wondering!

If you love this poster as much as I do, you can purchase a copy over at Print Process.

Vintage Paper Bag Chic

If you’re into vintage style with a unique history, then have I got something cool to share with you. Introducing To Have and To Hold, a Tumblr that really packs a punch in the vintage design category. The page features a collection of awesome paper bags from the 70′s and 80′s that practically jump out of the screen at you with their great use of colour and cold, simplistic designs. I can’t get enough of this site and hope you spend as much time as I have browsing through this beautiful collection that offers tons of inspiration.

The Importance Of Good Typography

Choosing a good font when designing anything for your company is extremely important. In fact, it is AS important as anything else you will be showing to the public and is integral to your brand image. It’s a shame then, that often it is overlooked and not given the weight it deserves.

Print Sample Review

There may have been a huge shift towards digital in the last ten years but there’s still a phenomenal amount of graphic talented designers with a real understanding and appreciation for quality design (hopefully that will never diminish). This is a small selection of some of the print samples i have been asked to review recently.

The Kerning Game

Admittedly, this is a little nerdy but nevertheless still fun! It’s an interactive game that’s all about kerning type (adjusting the space between the letters in a word). See how many you can get to 100/100. Check it out! Many thanks to Mark MacKay and Method of Action. Great idea!!

VW Typography Advert

I recently saw this at Hammersmith station and thought it was genius. It’s another example of a great VW ad. I like the way they have used plain text and typographic conventions to convey a really subtle message about efficiency. It also works on different
